Buffett and I had a rule. We only wanted to deal with people we liked, admired and trusted. No exceptions. We passed on plenty of opportunities, just because the people running them were jerks or clowns. Was that costly? Maybe in the short term. But in the long run it saved us from headaches and disaster.
